Scientific-Atlanta PowerVu Model D9120 

Advanced Encoder performs video and audio compression with data capabilities in accordance with MPEG-2, DVB, and ATSC standards. 

Advanced features include a flexible architecture, compact design, and excellent throughput.  

Model D9753 Control Card 

The Control card is used for Advanced Encoder configuration and monitoring functions for other cards within the chassis.  This card coordinates activities between all cards within an encoder chassis.

Model D9796-S Video Input Card 

The Video Input card accepts either analog composite or serial digital video conforming to ITU-R-656 bit-serial interface and ANSI/SMPTE 259M-C standards. 

It also interfaces with the Regulus Statistical Multiplex Controller to provide closed-loop statistical multiplexing control. 

The Video Input card has an on-board synchronizer with a built-in three-line adaptive comb decoder. The card processes video with 10-bit resolution producing the highest

quality video available. The card also provides anti-aliasing low-pass (brick wall) filtering giving the user the flexibility to change bandwidths for optimum picture quality.  

Supported VBI data formats include NABTS, WST, Inverted WST (cue tones), AMOL I and II (Nielsen), VITC, Gemstar, WINK and EIA 608. Any data extracted is reinserted appropriately into the video frame. 

 D9751 Clock and Mux Card This cards primary  responsibility is the multiplexing of services into a single MPEG-2  transport stream. This card provides an Ethernet connection allowing  communication with the PowerVu Network Centre, or another network  management system. Form C contact closure alarms are provided to  indicate Minor, Major, and Power faults.
